How to sell advertising on your website

Later on I discovered that lots of buyers were reluctant to making advertisements because after all, who wants to pay 700 dollars a month for a small 125x125 banner ad?

Reducing the price of the ad was out of question since I knew that an ad can’t be worth less than that on my website but on the other hand making the ads affordable to more advertisers was a priority.

The great news is that I found a way to make the same money from the ad space while making advertisers pay less!!

Ad rotation can make you more money

Instead of displaying the same ad 100% of the time I would rotate it with other ads so that each ad gets displayed equally in the same space. For example the same banner will contain three ads that rotate equally, Each ad rotation will cost 250 dollars so the three combined will cost 750 but this time, the prices are much more affordable.

So what if a customer wants more share of the ad space? He can they buy 2 rotations or more according to his budget.

There are lots of plugins for blogs that enable ad rotation based on your blogging platform. Make sure you find one of them and then start selling rotations per ad space instead of selling a whole adspace.

This will expose your ads to more people and will help you get more advertisers.

Display the Ad location clearly

When someone views your advertising page you want to make sure that he can see the place where his ad will be displayed. If you don’t have current advertisers than you can use any custom created banner to fill the space or you can put an image and mark on it the place of the ad.

Making the advertiser see where his ad will be placed is another crucial point you should put into consideration when selling ads.
