This article is Part II of my previous article Landing Page optimization tips where i gave lots of tips on landing page optimization.

In part two i will still continue on with the list of best practices you should follow if you want to increase your site's conversation rates and have optimized landing pages.

The following are few more landing page optimization best practices:

  • Up selling and cross selling: its much easier to sell more to the same person then to sell something to a brand new customer. Make sure you apply cross selling and up selling techniques in order to make more money out of your site
  • Eye Pattern: There are lots of studies that describe how visitors examine a site and the pattern their eye moment follows. One of the famous patterns is an "F" shape and it shows that a typical visitor will focus on the top left content, read the headline, a part of the content in the middle of the page then will scroll down the left side bar with his eye. As if his eyes are drawing an F shape while moving on the page
  • Purple makes people buy more!!!: A recent study showed that purple colored pages tend to put people in the mood of spending!! (see The psychology of selling
  • Landing pages must contain something useful: A typical visitor would leave a landing page if he didn't get a quick benefit out of it. Don't just ask the visitor to provide you with his mail or hard earned money without giving him something in exchange.
  • Trust seals: Hacker safe logos, BBB reliability log, mcafee scan seal and similar logos makes the visitor trusts your site more and increases conversion rates
  • Put the call to action button above the fold: if you are selling a product then put the call to action button above the fold. If your page is long then put one button each few paragraphs.

Landing page optimization is not a hard process and its beauty is that some results can appear overnight as soon as the changes are made.

Keep changing and testing every possible element on your page, your images, your text, your design and your logos. change a one at a time, take readings and see if anything changed. You might lose some sales while making the test but in the end any successful discovery will bring you a lifetime increased income.
